Abinet Teshome
Abinet is a self-taught street photographer hailing from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Apart from photography, Abinet has an intense passion for travel. His curiosity and passion for travel inspires his photography and allows him to capture his journey, by telling the stories of all the places he visits, and the people he meets. By combining his two passions, Abinet enjoys expressing himself through his images. He firmly believes that photography is the best medium to tell captivating stories, glorify unsung heroes and witnessing society’s truth. Abinet is currently working as a freelance photographer and cinematographer.
Nostalgic Memories
In his “Nostalgic Memories” series, Abinet presents a compelling collection of visual storytelling of two contrasting cities. He wanders the streets of Addis Ababa and Harar – a historical walled city with unique architectural, cultural and social makeup. Abinet takes candid images of life on the streets of these two cities, with double exposures. As he seeks commonalities between Addis Ababa and Harar, Abinet tries to highlight the contrast between the two cities and merge them together.
