Visual South Sudan
Decades of civil wars have contributed to numerous challenges that youth face today. Amongst others, these especially include the lack of job opportunities, corruption, high levels of illiteracy, poverty and inadequate employable skills. Due to the lack of opportunities, youth can easily be used and instrumentalized for violent and unlawful undertakings. As a result, some of them are addicted to drugs and alcohol as well as indulging in criminal activities. Girls are especially affected, as even without the above-mentioned factors, even before these political conflicts, societal proscriptions do them a lot of harm starting from girl child to womanhood. The new nation however has many other critical national and international priorities. My vision is to through mentoring and creative entrepreneurship transform youth into culturally harmonious vibrant members of society. A society where the ethnic and cultural diversity of her people are a source of strength, unity and pride; to be a pioneer in the development and empowerment of its people with special emphases to youth through provision of theoretical education, long life skills and safeguard the physical, moral and intellectual wellbeing and to ensure their effective and patriotic participation in the national affairs. As several studies have noted, in addressing all these issues youth participation is key to the promotion of peace in South Sudan and the transformation of the community and the nation. These pictures show a narrative of a new nation.
